2019 was a fantastic year for Help to Buy Windows

Help to Buy Windows has had a great year, £100,000 of double glazing grants were provided to qualifying applicants.

In 2019 we managed to fund the installation of 97 windows and 16 doors for UK homeowners that qualified for the double glazing grant.

Help to Buy Windows is the only UK based company that provides grants for double glazing.

A total of 19 projects were completed in 2019, including a large project for the Luton and Dunstable hospital NICU big build, the NICU grant will benefit hundreds of families a year that use the accommodation.

Double Glazing Grants 2020

For the 2020 double glazing grant, we already have 11 jobs with a total of 77 windows and 18 doors lined up to install early 2020.

The amount of installations we are able to complete ultimately is tied to the number of users that use our service to get quotations for windows and doors.

The more people that use the our service to arrange double glazing quotations, the better, as every quote we book contributes to the number of grants we are able to provide.

We want to think that we can double the number of grants provided in 2020.

Help to Buy Windows – Double Glazing Grant Hindhead, Surrey

Gail Moorey from Hindhead, Surrey was recently given a grant for the installation of 3 windows and 2 UPVC doors.

In the video, she gives her feedback of Help to Buy windows and the experience she had with us.

Gail is the sole carer for her 14-year-old boy with a rare form of epilepsy; she was able to work up until about five years ago until her childminder became poorly.

She mentions that by being a homeowner, it is tough to get help and afford home improvements.

She received a phone call from Help to Buy Windows about four months ago; she automatically assumed there would be a catch, but says, in this case, she was able to get new windows and doors installed entirely free of charge.

All she had to do was email through proof of her circumstances, and then she got another call to say she was eligible.

When the surveyor came to visit her, she was able to choose the style of door that she wanted, and the windows were exchanged for modern A-Rated windows.

She was advised to replace her older inefficient wooden front door with a modern A-rated UPVC door.

The bedroom is definitely a lot warmer after the window being replaced, the company that completed the installation was First Home Improvements.  

Two installers turned up to install the windows and completed the job to a really high standard.

Help to Buy Windows Latest grant installation: Sandra Reed

Help to Buy Windows provided a double glazing grant for 10 windows and a new front door for Mrs Reed.

Mrs Reed is a single parent homeowner, living in Eastleigh Hampshire, she first saw an advert for Help to Buy Windows on Facebook.

When she applied, she was apprehensive about putting her details into the site.

She didn’t believe that a company would really be giving away free windows and doors to homeowners.

Mrs Reed is caring for 2 sons alone after losing her husband 2 years ago, she says that there is usually no help for homeowners available.

Live has been a struggle, trying to support 2 sons alone and manage to maintain a home on a single income.

Sandra and the boys desperately needed new windows, the catches had gone, and daylight could be seen through the gaps around some of the window frames.

She had no way of funding the new windows without the help from Help to Buy Windows, she would have been forced to keep living with the draughty windows.

Since replacing the windows, she says that it is much quieter at night, “it doesn’t sound like there are cars driving through, and the draughts are gone.”

She saw the advert and filled in her details, she received a phone call to say she met the requirements and would she agree to a surveyor coming out to measure the windows.

“She could not believe it was happening,” she thought there would be hidden costs, but 6 months down the line the installation had been completed and the house is a lot warmer.

She lives on the main road and noise of the traffic used to drown out the sound of the TV, the new windows have solved this issue.

She goes on to thank Help to Buy Windows and to say that Help to Buy Windows is not a scam, it really is possible to have free windows and doors installed.
